Are Wine Spectator points biased towards wineries that advertise with them? This is the topic of a paper by Jonathan Reuter of Boston College entitled "Does Advertising Bias Product Reviews, An Analysis Of Wine Ratings." This paper began its life as Reuter's economics PhD thesis at M.I.T and a revised version will be published in the upcoming issue of the Journal of Wine Economics (JWE, Vol.4, No. 2).
